Why we are doing this

We went through the full recording of the 28 July webinar, word for word, and compared it against the deck. The traffic was good. Cost per lead was RM17 to RM18, when normal is RM25 to RM50. About 100 registered and 41 stayed to the very end.

The problem is what happened at the end. Here are the last words of the webinar:

"If you have more questions, just scan the QR code, and then you can WhatsApp Aina and ask more questions with Aina on the details of the programs." 02:15 · the close

Nobody was ever asked to buy. Every call to action offered more information instead. The words "enrol", "sign up" and "reserve your seat" were never said. RM18,000 was never said either. The price came at 1 hour 57 minutes, and the whole selling part lasted 9 minutes out of 145.

So this is not a traffic problem or a content problem. Johan taught well for 91 minutes. We just never made an offer. Your four jobs below fix that.

Your jobs — do them in this order

Job 1 is the one that matters most. If you only finish one thing, finish that one.

1

Write the ask

The biggest hole. Right now the close invites questions, so that is what we get.

Copywriting About 1 hour

Write the closing lines Johan will say. It must do three things, in this order:

  • Tell people to enrol tonight. Use the actual word.
  • Give the exact next step. Scan, fill the form, Aina confirms your seat.
  • Give a second door for people who need approval from a boss first.

That second door matters. Our best lead on 28 July was a Head of Learning and Development at a healthcare group. She liked it and filled in the form for her manager. She cannot pay on the night even if she wants to. She has to sell it upward to a boss and a finance head. If we only build a close for owners, we lose everyone like her.

Rough shape — make it sound like Johan "Enrol your manager tonight. Scan the code, fill in the form, and Aina will confirm your seat within the hour. If you need to bring this to your boss first, use the second link and we will send you everything you need to make the case."

Done when

Johan has the words, and both links exist and work. Test them on your own phone.

2

Write the answer to "how do you measure it?"

It came up on 28 July and we did not have an answer ready.

Copywriting About 30 minutes

What we said:

"We don't really collect data ... So we don't track data. So at least for now, we don't track data." 02:15 · answering a question about outcomes

Said three times in one answer, to a room of business owners. It will be asked again. And the L&D people have to repeat our answer to their CFO, so a weak answer kills the deal in a meeting we are not even in.

The good news: we already have the answer and nobody used it. Two things are already locked in the MDP programme doc:

  • The 90-day Visible Progress Pledge — if there is no progress at 90 days, we diagnose and fix it.
  • The monthly manager report card — what the manager applied, what changed, what to reinforce.

Turn those two into a short spoken answer. Something like: we track behaviour, not test scores, you get a report card every month, and at 90 days if nothing has moved we come in and fix it.

Done when

It is written down, it is under 30 seconds spoken, and Johan has practised saying it.

3

Fix the price so it is one number

On 28 July the room heard two different prices seven minutes apart.

Copywriting Wait for Patrick first About 30 minutes

At 1:50 we said:

"You can actually allocate about 36,000 to actually attend this."01:50

At 1:57 we said:

"The price that we are offering is actually 1,500 ringgit per month."01:57

RM36,000 is supposed to be the value of the four pillars, not the price. But the way it was said, it sounds like the price. Then the real price arrives and it is RM1,500. So people heard two numbers and did not know which one they owed.

Rewrite it as one clean block: say the value, then say plainly that they are not paying that, then give the price, the length, the total, and the HRD Corp point. Nothing else with a number on that slide.

Hold off until Patrick answers the question at the bottom of this page. There is a real conflict in our own documents about what RM1,500 means, and you cannot write this line correctly until that is settled.

Done when

One slide, one price, and the total is said out loud. RM18,000 has never once been spoken at a webinar.

4

Rebuild the deck from v11 and move the money to the front

Our best material is playing to the smallest room of the night.

Deck Half a day

Start from MDP_Pitch_Deck_v11, not v10. v11 already has better maths, a proper bonus stack with prices on each one, and Dato' Indra's origin story. v10 is the one that went on stage and it has none of that.

Three changes:

  • Move the cost slides to the very front. Right now the "how much this is already costing you" section sits at slide 79 of 99. That is 80% of the way in. Open with it instead, before Johan even introduces himself.
  • Cut to around 45 slides. There are 16 slides that are just an image and about 15 slides of logos and credentials before we get to the framework. The webinar has to fit in one hour. On 28 July it ran 2 hours 25 and people started leaving at the 1-hour mark.
  • Keep the five true-or-false questions. They are the best thing in the deck. Just move them after the cost section, so they land on people who are already uncomfortable.
Done when

Around 45 slides, cost section in the first 5 minutes, and you have timed a run-through at under 60 minutes.

Not your jobs — but please chase them

These four belong to other people. You are the project manager, so it is worth checking they are moving. The first one is the most valuable thing on this whole page.

Johan

Get the RM100,000 story on record

At 1:50 Johan mentioned a participant who told him one module alone was worth "more than 100,000" to him, and who then convinced his MD to send 30 more people from the same company. It was said in twenty seconds, with no name, and never used again. That is the strongest proof we have anywhere and it exists only as an aside in one recording. Only Johan knows who it was. We need the name, the company, permission to use it, and the 30-people figure confirmed.

Aina

Fill in the payment details on the deck

The closing slides still say PENDING where the bank account and Aina's WhatsApp number should be. The CIMB account number is already written in our MDP programme doc, so nothing is actually blocked here. Someone just has to paste it in.

Aina

Confirm how many seats are really left

We said nothing about seats on 28 July. The one line that touched it was "we already have people for our 12th batch", which tells people the batch is filling without them, so there is no reason to hurry. A cohort caps at 25, so a real number exists. Get it. If nobody will commit to a real figure, we say nothing about seats at all. Never guess a number on stage.

Czarina

Cut the showreel from 15 minutes to 4

The recording opens with 15 minutes of testimonials before a single person speaks. The MC does not come on until 15:10. People joined and watched strangers for a quarter of an hour with nobody hosting. Cut it to about 4 minutes and run it before the advertised start time, with the MC talking over it.

One thing only Patrick can settle

What does RM1,500 actually mean?

This is not a mistake in the deck. It is a conflict in our own source-of-truth document. The MDP README says both of these things:

Reading A

Price is RM18,000, which is RM1,500 a month for 12 months.

Reading B

RM1,500 is a refundable commitment deposit that comes back through the company's HRDC levy.

Same number, two meanings. That is why the deck says "RM1,500 per month" on one slide and "YOUR INVESTMENT TODAY RM1,500" on the next, and why Johan said it the way he did. Nobody is being careless. The instruction itself is unclear.

Patrick to decide: when someone signs up on the night, are they paying the first month, or a deposit that comes off the RM18,000? Once that is answered, job 3 takes half an hour.
